Mrinalini Lhila, Managing Director

Mrinalini Lhila is a Director at Thomas Capital Group with broad responsibilities encompassing origination, distribution and project management.

Prior to joining Thomas Capital, Mrinalini was the Editorial Director of Buyouts Conferences where she developed panel discussion topics and recruited many leading LPs and GPs, including some of the most respected icons of the private equity industry, as keynote speakers and panel participants to a dozen private equity focused conferences. Before that, Mrinalini was at the placement firm Deer Isle Capital, where she contributed to distribution efforts for private equity and hedge fund products. Mrinalini also spent five years at StepStone Group, where she served as a product manager for their private equity fund-of-funds business, overseeing aggregate commitments of $1 billion in over 50 managers globally. In addition, Mrinalini contributed to white papers, marketing and client presentations, business development efforts, ESG policy and GP-led secondary transactions. Before StepStone, Mrinalini was at Neuberger Berman, transitioning from Lehman Brothers as part of the management buyout transaction in 2009, in which she served as a key member of the deal team. Mrinalini conducted strategy and financial planning and analysis at Lehman Brothers Investment Management Division and at Citi Alternative Investments prior to that. She started her career at the Federal Reserve Bank, where she contributed to U.S. monetary policy and economic research.

Mrinalini holds an MBA from Washington University in St. Louis and graduated with a BA, magna cum laude, with double majors in Economics and International Relations and double minors in Mathematics and French from Randolph-Macon Woman’s College.
